2. About These Terms
These Terms govern your use of the OptiBlood website and your purchase of home blood-testing products and services.
Please read these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Cancellations, Returns and Refunds Policy before placing an order.
By placing an order, you confirm that:
- You have read and accepted these Terms.
- The information you provide is accurate.
- You are eligible to use the selected test.
- You understand the limitations of laboratory testing.
- You understand how your personal and health information will be processed.
Nothing in these Terms restricts your statutory consumer rights.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase and use an OptiBlood test unless a product expressly states otherwise and an appropriate consent process has been established.
Our services are intended for customers at supported United Kingdom delivery addresses.
You must not order or register a test for another adult without their knowledge and appropriate consent.
For a Couples Bundle, each participant must provide their own patient information and consent.
4. Our Services
Depending on the product selected, the service may include:
- A home blood-collection kit
- Collection instructions
- Prepaid sample-return packaging
- Professional laboratory analysis
- An original laboratory PDF report
- Secure report delivery
The exact inclusions are displayed on the relevant product page and order confirmation.
OptiBlood does not provide a customer results portal. Laboratory reports are not stored in a website account.
The service does not include medical consultation, diagnosis, treatment, prescription or individual clinician interpretation unless this is expressly stated on the relevant product page.
5. Medical Disclaimer
OptiBlood tests provide laboratory information and are not a substitute for medical diagnosis, physical examination or emergency care.
Results should be considered alongside symptoms, medical history and advice from an appropriate healthcare professional.
A result within or outside a laboratory reference range cannot by itself confirm or exclude a medical condition.
Do not stop medication, begin treatment or make significant medical decisions solely on the basis of an OptiBlood report without appropriate professional advice.
OptiBlood does not provide emergency medical care.
If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 999. For urgent medical advice in the UK, contact NHS 111.
6. Choosing a Test
Customers are responsible for reviewing the product description, collection method, preparation requirements and limitations before ordering.
Some tests may:
- Require collection at a particular time
- Require fasting or other preparation
- Be affected by medication or supplements
- Require collection during a particular menstrual-cycle stage
- Be unsuitable for home collection
- Require clinic collection
- Have specific sample-stability requirements
Contact OptiBlood before ordering if you are uncertain about the collection requirements. General customer support does not provide personalised medical advice.
7. Orders and Contract Formation
Submitting an order is an offer to purchase the selected product or service.
An automated order acknowledgement confirms receipt of the order but does not necessarily mean it has been accepted.
A contract is formed when OptiBlood sends an order-acceptance or dispatch confirmation.
OptiBlood may decline or cancel an order for legitimate reasons, including:
- Product unavailability
- Incorrect pricing or product information
- Suspected fraud or misuse
- An unsupported delivery location
- Suitability or operational restrictions
- Inability to provide the service safely or lawfully
If an order is cancelled after payment has been taken, the appropriate refund will be issued.
8. Prices and Payment
Prices are displayed in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable.
The complete amount payable is displayed before payment. Bundle prices are presented as complete prices.
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. OptiBlood does not store complete payment-card details.
Prices may change, but changes will not affect an order that has already been accepted.
Promotions and discount codes are subject to their stated conditions and availability.
9. Dispatch and Delivery
Estimated dispatch and delivery information may be provided during checkout or in the order confirmation.
Unless expressly stated as guaranteed, dispatch and delivery times are estimates.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
Contact support@optiblood.uk promptly if an address is incorrect. An address may not be changeable after fulfilment has begun.
10. Sample Collection and Return
Customers must follow the collection, labelling, packaging and return instructions supplied with the kit.
Requirements may differ between tests.
Customers are responsible for:
- Checking the kit before use
- Collecting the correct sample
- Providing the required sample volume
- Labelling the sample accurately
- Packaging the sample securely
- Returning it within the instructed period
- Using the supplied return method where required
A sample may become unsuitable because of insufficient volume, incorrect collection, contamination, haemolysis, mislabelling, leakage, damage, delay, temperature or failure to follow instructions.
Sending a sample does not guarantee that analysis will be successful.
11. Invalid or Unsuitable Samples
If a sample cannot be analysed because of a confirmed manufacturing defect in the collection kit, OptiBlood will provide an appropriate replacement without additional charge.
If the problem resulted from collection or return instructions not being followed correctly, OptiBlood may offer one complimentary replacement kit at its discretion.
A discretionary replacement:
- Is limited to one replacement per affected order
- Is subject to review of the circumstances
- Does not guarantee successful recollection
- Does not affect statutory rights concerning faulty goods or services
If a sample becomes unsuitable because of an issue caused by OptiBlood, a delivery provider or the laboratory, OptiBlood will assess the circumstances and provide an appropriate remedy. This may include recollection, repeat performance or a refund where required.
12. Laboratory Analysis and Timeframes
Analysis begins after a suitable sample is received and accepted by the laboratory.
Result timeframes displayed on product pages are estimates and not guarantees.
Delays may occur because of:
- Sample quality
- Repeat or confirmatory analysis
- Laboratory workload
- Equipment or technical issues
- Courier or postal disruption
- Bank holidays
- Events outside reasonable control
Where possible, OptiBlood will provide available information about significant delays.
13. Receiving Your Report
The original laboratory report will be sent securely to the verified email address supplied with the order.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that:
- Their email address is correct.
- They have secure access to it.
- They notify OptiBlood promptly if their details change.
The notification email must not include detailed results in its subject line or message body.
For a Couples Bundle, each participant receives a separate confidential report. One participant's report must not be disclosed to the other without appropriate recorded authorisation.
Contact support@optiblood.uk if the report is not received.
14. Cancellations, Returns and Refunds
Our cancellation, returns and refunds rights are set out in detail on our Cancellations, Returns and Refunds page. The wording on that page forms part of these Terms.
Cancellation before dispatch
Customers may request cancellation before dispatch by emailing support@optiblood.uk with their name and order reference.
If fulfilment has not begun and no direct cost has been incurred, the order will be cancelled and a full refund issued.
Statutory cancellation period
Where a statutory cancellation right applies, customers normally have 14 days from the day after receiving the collection kit to notify OptiBlood that they wish to cancel.
Customers do not need to return the physical collection kit unless OptiBlood specifically requests it.
Cancellation after dispatch
After dispatch, OptiBlood incurs a genuine, non-refundable £10 third-party fulfilment and postage cost.
Where legally permitted, where the cost has actually been incurred and where the customer expressly requested fulfilment to begin during the cancellation period, £10 may be deducted from the refund.
No £10 deduction will apply:
- Before dispatch
- Before the cost has been incurred
- Where the kit or service is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or misdescribed
- Where applicable consumer law requires a full refund
The £10 deduction is not an additional penalty and does not restrict statutory consumer rights.
Opened collection kits
Collection kits contain items supplied for health, hygiene and sample-collection purposes.
Where a kit was supplied with a hygiene seal, the change-of-mind cancellation right may no longer apply after the seal has been broken, where permitted by law and where this restriction was explained before purchase.
This does not affect rights where a kit is faulty, damaged, incomplete, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
After submitting a sample
Submitting a sample requests that laboratory analysis begins.
Submission alone does not mean that the service has been fully performed.
If analysis has begun but has not been completed, a refund may be reduced by a reasonable and proportionate amount reflecting the service already supplied, where permitted by law.
The service-related cancellation right may be lost after analysis has been fully performed where the customer expressly requested early performance and acknowledged that completing the service would affect their cancellation right.
Requesting cancellation
Email support@optiblood.uk and provide:
- Full name
- Order reference
- Email address used for the order
- A clear statement requesting cancellation
Approved refunds will be processed without undue delay and normally within 14 days of the relevant cancellation event.
Refunds will be returned through the original payment method.
Nothing in this section affects statutory consumer rights.
15. Data Protection
OptiBlood processes personal information and special-category health information.
Information is processed in accordance with applicable data-protection law, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
The Privacy Policy explains:
- What information is collected
- Why it is collected
- The lawful bases and special-category condition
- Who receives or processes it
- International transfers

16. Website Use
Customers must not:
- Use the website unlawfully or fraudulently

- Introduce malicious software
- Submit false patient, payment or order information
- Use another person's identity or health information without authority

Third-party laboratory reports and other third-party materials remain subject to their respective ownership rights.
18. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
OptiBlood is not responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances outside reasonable control, including postal disruption, severe weather, natural disasters, public-health emergencies, laboratory equipment failure or widespread service interruption.
Reasonable steps will be taken to minimise disruption and communicate significant issues.
This section does not remove rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
19. Liability
OptiBlood will provide its services with reasonable care and skill.
OptiBlood is not responsible for losses that:
- Were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed
- Result from inaccurate information supplied by the customer
- Result from failure to follow collection or return instructions
- Result from unauthorised commercial use
- Could reasonably have been avoided
Nothing excludes or restricts liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Breach of statutory consumer rights
- Liability that cannot legally be excluded
- Data-protection liability where exclusion is prohibited
20. Complaints
Customers can complain by emailing support@optiblood.uk with:
- Their name
- Order reference
- Details of the issue
- The outcome requested
OptiBlood will investigate and respond within a reasonable period.
The complaints process does not restrict statutory rights.
21. Changes to These Terms
OptiBlood may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, regulation, security, technology or services.
The latest version and effective date will be displayed on this page.
Changes apply from their stated effective date and will not retrospectively alter orders already accepted unless required by law or expressly agreed.
22. Severability and Waiver
If any part of these Terms is found unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
Failure to enforce a right immediately does not mean that right has been waived.
23. Third-Party Rights
These Terms are between the customer and BB 2 SERVICE LTD.
No other person has a right to enforce them except where the law provides otherwise.
24. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
